Custom Wedding Invitations from Basic Invite

I once heard the phrase “artwork is a hug for your home” and I could not agree more! Artwork, more than any other piece of decor is what makes a house feel like a home. It’s the personal touch that gives ownership and belonging to a space. Many of you already know that I desire to provide my clients with a no-hassle way to enjoy the beautiful photography that they’ve invested in… beyond simply sharing it in digital form. When I photograph a wedding, event, or portrait session, it’s always followed up with an ordering appointment and design consultation – where clients come to the studio to select and order their personalized artwork.

All of our products are proudly handcrafted in the USA, and we sell professionally framed prints, canvases, coffee table books, fine art albums, and select gift items… however, we do not sell greeting cards or invitations. This leads me to the point of this blog post! Over the years I have designed and sold many different types of cards, from Holiday cards to Save the Dates, and what I’ve learned is that there are companies far better at serving my clients with this particular need than I am. One of those amazing companies is Basic Invite.

Here I was spending hours in Photoshop designing cards from scratch, then emailing proofs to my clients with every little change that was made… it was time-consuming and inefficient, not to mention costly. So now I stick with what I do best, and let companies like Basic Invite do what they do best! I provide my client with the professionally edited digital file, they upload it to Basic Invite’s website, and now literally have HUNDREDS of design options at their disposal. Basic Invite’s site is easy to use and they have a card for just about every major life moment; including, weddings, showers, birth announcements, birthdays, graduations, and more!

For all of my fall brides in the throes of wedding planning, the rest of this blog post is for you! I think Basic Invite has the potential to make your life a lot easier, so I wanted to share with you a few specifics of what they have to offer!

If you’re interested, Basic Invite really can be a one-stop shop for you. They provide free, totally customizable wedding websites that are mobile-friendly and easy to use. When I was planning my wedding, in 2019, I didn't think I needed or wanted a wedding website. That was until I realized how they make things so much simpler (in this digital world we live in) and easier for my guests (and myself!). From information on hotel blocks, directions, registries, and more, having a wedding website really is helpful! Also, all of your guests will likely be accessing it from their phone, therefor having something like a Basic Invite site that isn’t only FREE but mobile-friendly really is huge! You can also easily make your website match your wedding invitation suite! Which I think is so awesome and cohesive!

They have over 900 custom wedding invitations to choose from. Every invitation is part of a set - including save the dates, enclosure cards, menus, wedding programs, and more. Or if you want something more simplified, check out their all in one wedding invitations with a tear-off RSVP postcard included! These are super cool because they really are “all-in-one”, you don’t even have to order envelopes because the guest's addresses are printed on the front of each invitation… fold the invite, add the postage, and you’re done!

What makes Basic Invite unique from other custom card companies is its vast amount of color options, allowing you to design your invitations exactly how you want down to the littlest detail. When designing your card you instantly see the changes previewed for you, making the website intuitive and easy to use. They also offer many different color options for their envelopes! It’s really nice because you can easily design something that is not only beautiful but also unique.

Call it the artist in me, but I completely nerd out over paper, so my favorite part is that they also offer custom samples allowing you to see the card’s paper quality and how it will print before you place your final order.

Basic Invite truly is a convenient resource, as they even include a free address collection service… making them a complete one-stop-shop for all your invitation needs. So if you’re interested in simple, intuitive, and easy, check them out!
