Marco & Madeline | Chesapeake Bay Foundation

March 31, 2016

Photographing Madeline and Marco’s Annapolis wedding was a beautiful reminder of why I enjoy what I do so much. The weather was perfect that day, visually everything was so lovely, but most importantly and trumping everything else was the fact that love was celebrated in the best way. That two people who appreciate each other, love each other, and truly know and support each other, decided to live their lives together as husband and wife for the rest of their days. It was magical, lovely, and an honor to document!

Madeline and Marco wanted to have an Annapolis beach wedding without the theme being nautical, but rather soft and elegant. Madeline, along with her sisters and friends, did most of the decor themselves! I just adored all of the ribbons she tied around each of the dock posts leading the guest to the ceremony, the soft pink she incorporated in her center pieces, and their personalized limoncello on each table! All of the personal touches that Madeline and Marco had at their wedding really made their day feel unique and super special.

One of my favorite moments from their wedding day was when I was directing Marco to the location we had decided upon for their first look pictures. It was a little bit of a walk to get to that perfect spot, and it gave me time to talk with him and hear about some of the events leading up to their wedding day. During our walk Marco shared with me how so many of his family and friends rearranged their travel schedules, due to canceled flights and bad weather, just to be there and celebrate with them. He is from Boston, and unfortunately there were bad storms the night before their wedding causing flights to be canceled. So his friends, family, (and even some groomsmen!) rented cars and drove through the night to be there! I loved hearing how their friends and family gathered around them, to support them on such a special day. I loved seeing the anticipation and excitement on his face to see Madeline for the first time that day, to see both Madeline and Marco’s excitement to be married. In that moment walking to their first look I was reminded of just how blessed I am to photograph such love, and such joy.

Working with Mary Brunst Photography was amazing. I could not have asked for a better photographer. From our initial consultation which was fun, low pressure, and friendly I knew I had found the right photographer. Mary is there for you every step of the way, providing insight, tips, and even referrals to other vendors when I asked. She was always available and I knew I could truly count on her. Doing our engagement session with her was wonderful and very important for (us!) to get comfortable in front of the camera and know what to expect for the wedding day. On the day of my wedding she was prompt, professional and did not let a single thing ruffle her feathers- or she didn’t let us see it!! She kept me feeling calm and I always felt confident that she had everything covered. She kept me posted on the progress of the photos after the wedding and they truly exceeded our expectations. She caught all of the little details that often you don’t absorb during the crazyness of the day. The quality of the photos is phenomenal and I love all of them. The mix of posed, candid, decor and details is just right and showed that Mary really took into account everything that we talked about. I can’t say enough what a wonderful experience I had with Mary and I will 100% recommend her to family and friends. I can’t wait to work with her again in the future. – Madeline
