Brian & Ashley | Gettysburg, PA

February 18, 2015

Whew, I’m finally getting the chance to share this beautiful fall wedding in Gettysburg with y’all, and I’m so excited! At the end of last October, I had the privilege of photographing this lovely couple’s wedding day… and it was a blast! Ashley and Brian are so easy and fun to be around, I wasn’t surprised at all that their awesome wedding day was just as fun and relaxed as the two of them are. The Fall weather couldn’t of been more perfect, the day was absolutely lovely in every way!

Ashley and Brian met online, after Brian had just relocated from upstate New York to Maryland for work. A little over a year later, they were engaged while on vacation with Brian’s family in beautiful St. Maartin. When it came to wedding planning, Ashley knew she wanted to incorporate a vintage and lace style with bright colored fall flowers. Both her and Brain wanted a fall wedding, but after that they had completely different ideas for the style of venue and theme of their wedding…. Ashley prefers a more rustic and outdoor look while Brian prefers more of the formal ballroom style, they felt like they found the perfect compromise with The Lodges at Gettysburg venue!

Family is very important to both Ashley and Brian, when I asked Ashley what the most special part of her wedding and reception was, she told me – “Other than us becoming husband and wifeboth of our family and friends coming together, some meeting for the first time, and having a great time! But I’d have to say what made it super special for me, was having not only both of my sets of grandparents there, but my grandmother was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening before the wedding and was released the day of the wedding, with just enough time to change and leave for the venue. It would not have been the same without her there!

Ashley and Brian had a lot of special and unique touches to their wedding that made it a fun and enjoyable experience for their guest! For their favors they gave out half bottles of Adams County wine, half Rebel Red and half Tears of Gettysburg, for their guest to have a keepsake of Gettysburg to take with them. They also continued the celebration after the reception ended with surprise fireworks and a bonfire! The whole day was a beautiful celebration of their love, shared with the people that mean the most to them, it was perfect!

Working with Mary for our wedding was absolutely amazing! Not only with her awesome photography skills, but she was constantly going above and beyond, from our meeting and planning before the wedding, to helping me adjust and re-tie my dress the day of. There were times when my head was going in so many directions during planning and she would ask what we wanted to do, and we would be completely undecided, she would be our voice of reason. We knew ahead of time that she would have a lot of pictures to go through and edit, and the pictures did  take awhile to get back, but it’s WELL worth the wait! I can’t wait till we have another reason to use her in the future! – Ashley
