Lauren Rogers | Westminster, MD

June 27, 2014

Last month I had the pleasure of photographing some sweet 16 photos for Lauren Rogers. This girl is lovely inside and out, she has a smile that is contagious, and a sweet and giving spirit that makes you want to get to know her better; she radiates kindness. I had an absolutely wonderful time getting to know her (and her family!) during her photo session. It’s days like this one that I am constantly reminded of how very blessed I am to be a photographer, to be living my dream, and having the opportunity to meet truly lovely people who shine from the inside out.

For Lauren’s photo session we rented a vintage Schwinn bicycle (from White’s Bikes in downtown Westminster) and took it for a ride on some country roads in Carroll County, and I have to tell you, I felt like the whole photo session was an adorable Pinterest board in the making! I mean… vintage bike, beautiful girl, daisies, afternoon sunlight to die for… what could be better? Super fun, super cute, and all with fantastic and wonderful people – I was one happy photog :).

I knew watching Lauren do a photo shoot with Mary would be a great time. Mary is one of those people you meet and can tell instantly that she loves what she does and has a sincerity about her that is so rare these days. What I didn’t expect was how much fun my husband and I would have watching this photo shoot! Mary was so creative in her shots and let us chime in with our silly ideas, we even got to help hold some of her equipment (did I mention that she doesn’t have to be a control freak!). Best part about it was she captured the spirit of our Lauren by letting us engage during the whole process, it let Lauren show not only her outer spirit but her inner charm that Mary amazingly captured in her photographs. I know this was our first time having Mary capture memories for us but I promise it won’t be our last! We are so grateful for the pictures that truly show who our Lauren is, in the most perfect element. – Jennie Rogers

Lauren’s makeup was done by the talented Rebekah Weinreich.
